Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn
Celebrates Pop Culture on Pop Day!
BAY RIDGE – Students, faculty and staff at Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn were treated to a special kind of dress-down day on Friday, June 14th, 2019 as the entire school came together to show school spirit on Pop Day! The special event took place on the last day of classes for students and served as an opportunity to celebrate that evening’s production of “Adelphi Pop!” as well as pop culture in general.
Students of all ages came dressed in their official “Adelphi Pop!” collectible T-shirts to show support for the Academy’s thriving Theater Arts Program. Others came dressed in clothing and accessories paying tribute to pop culture icons like Adele, Michael Jackson and the hit TV series “Friends.”
Adelphi Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos said she was pleased to see so many students embrace this end-of-year Spirit Day event and show support for the Theater Arts Program.
“I’m very pleased that so many of our students and staff members came to school dressed in their official ‘Adelphi Pop!’ T-shirts,” Ms. Romanos said. “What a great way to close the school year, by showing support for Adelphi’s thriving Theater Arts Program, which established a grand tradition of producing a full-fledged musical revue on the last day of classes back in Spring 2014.”
As the oldest private, independent, continuing, coeducational, college-preparatory day school in the borough and one of the oldest in the nation, Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn, “the little school of big dreams” has been “effectively preparing young people for college, career, and life, one day at a time” for over 150 years.
