Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn Volunteers Help
Set Up Little North Pole Event Benefiting JDRF!

BAY RIDGE – Many hands make the lights work! Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn students and staff spent a recent Saturday morning helping to decorate the Neponsit Beach, Queens home of longtime Adelphi supporter and friend Joseph Mure Jr. Mr. Mure, a prominent attorney, hosts the annual Little North Pole event at his home each year to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Adelphians volunteered to help transform his home into a giant winter wonderland in time for this year’s event, to be held on Sunday, December 8th, 2019. Adelphi Academy is proud to once again serve as a major sponsor and supporter of this event.
As part of the setup process, Adelphi’s volunteers unloaded hundreds of life-sized decorations and assisted in placing them around the property. There were life-sized toy soldiers and Santa statues, snowmen and giants wreaths, among other traditional items. Adelphi’s own talented student-artists also painted giant, larger-than-life dreidels that were designed by Adelphi from scratch.
“Joe serves as a wonderful example to our students of what dedication, community and charity truly means,” said Adelphi’s Director of Academy Operations and close personal friend to Mure, Mr. Albert C. Corhan. “He always supports Adelphi and we are proud to support him and the Little North Pole event each year, which raises thousands of dollars to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.”
The annual event draws thousands of visitors each year and features live musical performances from professional recording artists as well as local student groups, plus delicious food, refreshments and lots of surprise celebrity guests! The stage will even be set up for an early visit from Santa Claus himself!

Our involvement in the Little North Pole is such a wonderful example of Adelphi’s willingness to give back to causes that truly capture the holiday spirit.
