Adelphians Celebrate the Arts on Theater Day!
BAY RIDGE – Students and staff at Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn were treated to a special kind of dress-down day on Friday, February 28th, 2020 as the entire school came together to show their appreciation for Adelphi’s Theater Arts Program on Theater Day! Students and faculty members at the historic Bay Ridge school dressed in their favorite theater shirts from past Adelphi productions like “Adelphi’s Got Talent!” and “Adelphi Pop!”, in addition to the official shirt for the Academy’s Winter 2020 production of “The Adelphian Masquers’ 5 Year Anniversary Show!”
Students of all ages enjoyed this special day dedicated to the accomplishments of the Adelphian Masquers and designed to promote school spirit and unity. Even the littlest Adelphians sported their anniversary show shirts beaming with pride.
Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos said she was pleased to see so many students embrace this unique Spirit Day concept and have fun celebrating the arts at Adelphi.
“I’m very pleased that so many of our students and staff members dressed in their favorite Adelphi theater shirts, and that so many supported the upcoming anniversary show as well,” Ms. Romanos said. “The arts have always been an important component of Adelphi’s mission to educate the total child, and Spirit Days allow us to showcase the strong sense of community that exists here. A celebration of the performing arts made for the perfect chance to show school spirit on a broad scale.”
