Adelphi Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day
With Annual Dress Down Event!
BAY RIDGE – Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn students, faculty and staff came to school on Monday, March 18th, 2019 dressed in green clothing and accessories to mark St. Patrick’s Day! The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dress Down event kept spirits high as Adelphians wore their brightest and best outfits for the special day. Some of the Lower Schoolers even came dressed as leprechauns, complete with hats and rainbow capes! Others wore green wigs and hairbands topped with shamrocks to show their spirit.
The event served as a salute to St. Patrick and Irish culture, but also as a chance for Adelphians of all cultures to come together to show their school spirit. The response was overwhelming as different shades of green filled the halls and classrooms.
Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos said, “The Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dress Down event at Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn was a chance for all Adelphians to come together and show their respect for Irish culture, as well as for each other. By uniting to take part in a themed dress down day, students and staff were able to showcase their school spirit and the strong sense of community that exists here.”
Though St. Patrick’s Day is marked each year on March 17th, Adelphi’s celebration served as the perfect precursor to the Annual Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which was scheduled to take place the following Sunday, March 24th. Irish eyes continued to smile at Adelphi and Bay Ridge at large throughout the week in anticipation of the annual parade!
