BAY RIDGE – Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn’s littlest students put on one of the Academy’s biggest shows! Lower Schoolers took center stage in front of the entire Adelphi community as part of a very special Lower School Talent Show held inside the John Lockwood Auditorium Theatre on Wednesday, January 29th, 2020. Proud parents, teachers and classmates clapped along as students performed everything from “Baby Shark” to AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.” There were also exciting martial arts demonstrations, piano and guitar recitals, and a stirring rendition of the operatic classic “Santa Lucia” by Lower Schooler Saba that left audience members in awe.

This year’s show was hosted by classmates Saba and Edward, who introduced each act and exchanged playful banter like professional television hosts. They introduced musical groups, soloists, athletes and even a champion speller!

Aspiring scientist Lasha provided one of the show’s biggest highlights as he conducted two live experiments in front of the captive audience. First, he used baking soda and vinegar to inflate a balloon, expertly narrating the process every step of the way. Then he created his very own volcano, which erupted to the delight of students, parents and faculty members.

Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos was impressed by the talent these Lower Schoolers put on display.

“This year’s Lower School Talent Show allowed our youngest Adelphians to showcase some of their unique and extraordinary talents in front of the entire Adelphi community,” Ms. Romanos said. “It is important to nurture these individual talents on a regular basis as part of Adelphi’s commitment to educating the ‘total child,’ and this annual event provides an opportunity for these stars to truly shine. I’m very proud of all of this year’s participants and cannot wait to see what else the Lower Schoolers have in store for us!”
