Office of the Head
Dear Prospective Family,
At Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn our goal is to enroll academically motivated students who are capable of benefiting from a challenging college-preparatory driven curriculum. For more than 150 years Adelphi has been in the forefront of educational excellence, reform and innovation, effectively preparing young people for college, career and life one day at a time.
Our present commitment to excellence is exactly the same as it was during our founding in 1863 — to provide the very best education possible for every Adelphi student, to educate the total child and to motivate each one of our students to seek and to achieve the highest standards of learning. Each year since the opening of our doors, the Academy has continued to place Adelphi graduates into America’s leading colleges and universities. Our graduates have successfully attended every major American university, including Harvard, Princeton, Yale and others.
The Academy is a small, intimate, private, independent, continuing, co-educational, college preparatory day school offering classes from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th year. The Academy welcomes students from overseas, throughout the United States and specifically the New York area to apply for admission. We are easily accessible by all means of public transportation.
Our objective for the Academy Admissions process is also exactly the same as your goal as parents/guardians — to identify the best possible academic and social fit between student and school.
We believe that the Adelphi experience is a unique one that can be compared to no other. As such, it offers many special and important opportunities and experiences not readily available in other secondary schools.
Please review our materials and complete the necessary forms (Forms A, B, C and D). Please send today all necessary material along with the mandatory fee for processing to the attention of the Office of Academy Admissions. We will then contact you and make arrangements for your personal visit to the campus, ask your child to take an Academy Admissions Entrance Examination, conduct a two-part family interview where the parent/guardian and student are given the chance to ask questions, get to meet other students, sit in on classes and meet our dedicated staff.
You will experience firsthand the unique Adelphi approach to learning and hear of our success over the years, but, more importantly, you will understand what makes Adelphi Academy the independent school of choice for so many and an experience that your youngster will treasure all the years of their lives. Be a part of the next 150 years of academic excellence and experience Adelphi!
Very Truly Yours,
Ms. Iphigenia Romanos
