Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn Puts School Pride
On Display During Annual Brown & Gold Day!
BAY RIDGE – Students and staff at Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn were treated to a special kind of dress-down day on Friday, September 28th, as the entire school came together to show school spirit on Brown & Gold Day! Students and faculty members at the historic Bay Ridge school dressed in the Academy’s official colors to show unity and pride.
Students of all ages were encouraged to come to school dressed in official Adelphi gear for the day. Plenty of bright gold sweatshirts and brown sweatpants were on display, as well as hoodies, sweaters and other related items. Brown & Gold Day was the first in a series of special annual themed dress-down days that Adelphi has established and refers to as Spirit Days.
Adelphi Head of School Ms. Iphigenia Romanos said she was pleased to see so many students put their school pride on display.
“It was very encouraging to see so many of our students and staff members dressed in their favorite Adelphi gear or other brown-and-gold clothing,” Ms. Romanos said. “Having the entire school participate in an event like this boosts spirit inside and outside the classroom and makes quite a powerful statement about the sense of community that exists at Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn.”
As the oldest private, independent, continuing, coeducational, college-preparatory day school in the borough and one of the oldest in the nation, Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn, “the little school of big dreams” has been “effectively preparing young people for college, career, and life, one day at a time” for over 150 years.
