Chess Club

Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn’s Chess Club meets twice a week – once after school and once during the Middle & Upper School lunch period. Members are taught basic chess strategy and techniques and refine their skills through friendly competitions during each period.

Once a year, qualifying members face off in a schoolwide Chess Tournament held inside the John Lockwood Auditorium Theatre as part a special assembly. After several rounds of competition, a winner is crowned and recognized in front of the entire Adelphi community. Prizes and certificates are awarded to the first, second and third place finishers.
