Adelphi Donates Toys to Ailing Children
Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn helped to make the holidays a little brighter for children in need by donating dozens of new, unwrapped toys collected as part of the Academy’s Annual Holiday Toy Drive to pediatric cancer patients being treated at Maimonides Medical Center.
From stuffed animals to action figures to remote-controlled vehicles, Adelphians donated brand new, unwrapped toys each week during the drive in exchange for dress down privileges. The toys were placed inside a large bin in the Academy’s Main Hall that quickly began to overflow!
The toy drive built upon the success of the Annual Holiday Food Drive, during which students and staff once again donated hundreds of canned goods to those in need, right in time for Thanksgiving!
“Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn’s Annual Holiday Food Drive served as a perfect example of the impact that can be made by giving back to those in need,” Ms. Romanos said. “In order to build upon its success and continue to teach our children the importance of selflessness during the holidays – and at all times – Adelphi was proud to collect so many new toys for the pediatric cancer patients at Maimonides Medical Center and deliver to them a little extra joy this holiday season.”
