Adelphi Academy of Brooklyn’s Fine Arts Program has grown to incorporate three distinct yet cohesive components: Theater/Performing Arts, Music and Art.
- Throughout the history of Theater Arts at Adelphi, The Adelphian Players – Brooklyn’s oldest equity theater showcase, founded in 1965 – and The Adelphian Masquers have presented dramas, comedies, and musicals. They have worked on the traditional proscenium-set stage, have tackled theatre-in-the-round and have even performed outdoors. Adelphi is proud to put on two full-length theatrical productions each academic year: the annual winter musical production, which takes place on three nights, and the annual spring musical revue, a one-night-only production taking place on the last day of classes in June.
- The Adelphi Rocks Musical Program builds upon Adelphi’s long and rich tradition of musical instruction by pairing interested students with professional performing musicians who assist in their study of bass guitar, electric/acoustic guitar, piano/keyboards, woodwinds and drums/percussion. Additional instruction is offered in songwriting, performance and band.
